I have a 2001 Series 100 LC with navigation. Periodically my left (driver's side) speakers quit working and may stay off until I turn a corner, hit a bump, or will just come back on for no apparent reason. I know it sounds like a short somewhere but i have not located one. There is also a buzz in the speakers when I turn the volume all the way down. The amplifier had apparently died and was bypassed and a new one put in back cargo area by previous owner. The driver side speaker in rear door is inop for some reason but the other speakers work.
Does anyone have any ideas on what may be causing my left speakers to go off and then come back on? Thank you. Sabre44

I had similar issues and also had an aftermarket amp. Turns out 1 channel in that amp was weak/dying. Popped in a new amp about 2-3 months back and haven't had any issues. That being said as you are already aware it could be a few different things besides that though.

I am having same issue with 07 LX. It disconnect and reconnect sometimes.
How could I fix this issue???

Check the wires in the rubber loom between the door and lower left kick panel. I had an issue with a pinched, broken wire that affected the door locks. Could be similar.

Sabre 44, I had a similar problem in a 04, only all front speakers would periodically go out & come back on for no apparent reason. My problem was the passenger side tweeter was shorting out on the cover.

i noticed that almost every time i hit a bump with the front passenger side tire, it either connect or reconnect.

Could be a couple of things but the first thing you need to do is probably remove the door panel and see what is going on. That is what I would do.

  • Check for pinched or loose connections to the speakers. If it is stock could be they are just toast.
  • Check the speaker itself is not loose and moving. It could be grounding out
  • If this is all stock then you could have an amp issue or a loose ground could do it...

To get the help, you want, you need to try and narrow it down for folks.

I would pull the panel and do as suggested. Then I would use your fader and balance to isolate the speaker. I would open and close the door and see if the speaker cuts out. I would wiggle the speaker with my hand and see what happens. I would drive around with the panel off and see what I could find. If that doesn't produce results I would run just the front speakers and see what happens. Then I would run just the passenger side front and back and see what happens...

If you have stock speakers get some new ones while you are in there as the stock ones are probably just wore out and you would be better off with a new set. You can get a decent set for all 4 doors for around $100 just search on the forum.
