@concretejungle @k2mantra How is the wooden extension holding up to the elements? I haven't seen one of these in person and don't know what type of wood it is. Did you sand it and refinish it with anything? Or do you use something like butcher block conditioner?

I actually put 4 coats of schellac sealant on it all the way around before I mounted it. It comes as just plywood with an extremely thin layer of stain, so i made sure to get the edges extra well. So far, it's been holding up very well with the many layers of sealant. No signs of expanding and whatnot. I also don't use it as a cutting board.
