Front Motor mounts (1 Viewer)

Both are busted, fan has shatered. Is there a better way? Is there an aftermarket mount that has a bolt straight thru?

Which mounts are you running? The round? The smaller rectangle?

Everything I do, I use the large FJ60 motor mounts, much larger than the original 40/55 mounts and tabs to prevent too much motor movement in the case of breakage.

I considered using mounts not unlike the ones on the bell housing .At least you'd have a bolt hrough there.You might have to open up the motor mounts a bit though.

The old round ones are crap. Upgrade to the new ones like Kurt has sugested and you won't be sorry. Much better design.

yes.

There was a year when these came on 40's I believe. It's a direct drop in.

My 76 FJ40 originally had the round mounts.
I ordered new motor mounbts from SOR a number of years ago.

I was suprised when I found that I got different motor mounts than what I had, but it became immediatly apparant that these new ones are a better desgin than the old round ones. and the fit without problems.

Yup, they are slightly larger (~1/2" on all sides) but they fit fine assuming you don't have any weird headers, PS shaft issues, etc. I run them next to my 1" PS shaft...
