I want to remove my front heater so I can clean it up and paint it. How have you guys dealt with the coolant issue? Plug? Drain?

Clamp off the hoses take it out, clean it up replace remove clamps, minimal loss of coolant.

Do you mean clamp off the hose that connects the pipe to the heater? Small hose about 2 inches in length. Vise grips?

I would think on the engine bay side where it goes through. so you dont have anyting in your way, but I am subscribing for sure cause this is something I would like to do.

I did this a few days ago. I used a small bucket in the cab and pulled the lower hose off. The bucket caught just about all of it. It was a one paper towel clean up. The heater was disconnected from the firewall and stood upright before I removed the top hose. 10 min job.
good luck

Yeah maybe a litre or 2 will come out. I've just did that last week.
