Okay, I searched but didn't find what I needed. Who else makes front bumpers besides Slee, ARB and TJM? I was going to order a Marlin Crawler bumper today and they stopped making them.

If those are my options, which one gives the best approach angle? Just so it's clear, my rig is not an expedition rig! It is a trail rig... I use it hard and to be totally honest, I don't have a smooth spot on my factory bumper. :whoops:

In my opinion TJM is not that great. I have a buddy that has one and it doesn't seem to be that durable. The Slee I believe has the best approach angle but the ARB offers more brush protection. I think the Slee and ARB seem to have the same durability. I have the ARB and love it though. I have put my ARB through hell and back and ran into things that i shouldn't have when on the trail and it is as good as new. Good luck!

ARB hoops offer tree protection too. :) I had a tree fall on mine in my driveway and it saved me from lots'o damage.

I'd recommend the slee front bumper. I don't have one, but wouldn't hesitate in getting one. I've seen several in person -- they are STOUT.

The ARB (which I have) is a great bumper. IMHO, if you're concerned about possibly hitting a north american white or black tailed roo...get the ARB. Lots of cows in your area wandering the roads...ARB's for you. Slow pedestrians? ARB again.

I wouldn't suggest the TJM. They don't seem as strong as the ARB and definitely not as strong as the slee front bumper.

FWIW, I've been known to hit a trail or two...I've bashed the hell out of my ARB. It's held up pretty well given the abuse, but you can clearly see where I've tweaked the wings and some of the other bits underneath.

I think the ultimate 80 series bumper would be the slee bumper with ARB-like hoops welded on.

The Slee has the best approach by far of all the commercially available bumpers. It was designed for rock work.

I really love mine.

(No affilliation, yadda, yadda, yadda...:flipoff2: )

If you must know.......I got spotted into a rock wall on Kane Creek and I bent it up a bit. It pissed me off so I took it off.......

So I guess it wasn't so "stout". :flamingo:

I've had the following: ARB, commercial ARB and Slee (no hoop). Even with the rock crawling I did I greatly preferred the regular ARB over everything else.

The impact would have caused yer dentures to hit the windshield...:flipoff2:

Sucked, I think you know the type...;)

I too think the Slee is the sturdiest but I can't believe it has the best approach angle. Just from these pictures it looks like it sticks out farther-lower than the ARB.

That is an illusion.

Optimum picture angle on the ARB; worst possible picture angle on the Slee.

The bottom of the Slee "winch basket" is even with the bottom of the frame rails and the recovery points are integral with the bumper mounting-to-frame. The Slee wings are tucked way up. The Lower edge of The ARB is well below the frame rails.
