Hello,

I'm looking for the difference between the front cross member (or frame horn), and the rear cross member.. in relation to the ground...

I looked here, BUT the rear measurement is cut-off in the drawing..

The other tech link doesn't have it at all..

I just installed new axles, and the rear is way tall, I'd like to know how much to remove to make it level..

thanks

Hi All:

Guess I'm confused as to what you are looking to accomplish.

Are you saying that the rear of the vehicle is sitting way high? If so you need to modify the rear suspension, not the vehicle frame.

Regards,

Alan

I'd like a reference point to measure, so I know how much to lower the rear....

In other words I want to measure twice and cut once...

No I'm not going to cut the frame... I can take it out of the spring perches which are not welded yet, and are huge...

on the late model chassis:

- 150mm from top of rear chassis (down) to centre of eye of shackle hanger - which is in line with top of flat part chassis rail between the 2 axles.

- 62.6mm from the centre of eye of shackle hanger (up) to same flat part of chassis rail +- middle of frame horn

Therefore the centre of the front eye is 62.6mm lower than the centre of the rear.

AFAICS

The FSM doesn't actually give you the dimension you are looking for. Here is a copy of the page.
