Howdy! Count me in for two. I am more than 90% for sure, and Michelle is about 50%+ right now. We are dealing with taking care of her mother, back in Illinois. She had a heart attack on Sunday, but she is recovering nicely. Hopefully, neither of us will have to make an emergency trip back, but it is possible. We are still planning on going up Friday afternoon. John
OK. Good news. It looks like we have made some progress. Grandma is setup for at least a week of in-house therapy at the hospital before she will be released, probably to an assisted living center that we have already visited with her. Michelle and I are both in for this trip, at least 99% probable, barring any unforeseen events. We are still going up mid day on Friday. John

So I guess it's at the Baja Gas Station, Saturday at 7:30 in the morning?

That's my currant plan, if anything changes will post up. This is an everyone welcome, whenever you can make it event, so show up when you can.

It's looking like I need to be in DC acting like a bidness man on Monday, may require a red eye on Sunday night to get it done. So may have to bail early afternoon on the Sunday trail.

Talked to Alfred from the Trail Teams and they may be there on Friday afternoon and camping. He is working with Brittan for a BBQ for after the cleanup, so plan on bringing snack/quick lunch type food to get you through till then.

Wait - I might be back in. I think I am - therefore, I am.

Should have posted yesterday when I found out but we are officially out as well. Had held out hopes that we could still at least make a day run up and back but no dice. It'll be good news for some as T won't be there for the raffle.

:frown:

For anyone wanting to caravan on Saturday, the Baja gas station is across from the casino on Beeline HWY, on the east side, a couple of miles north Shea Blvd.

Just loaded the firewood. A 4x8 trailer 8" deep in old lumber cut to size should keep us warm and fuzzy. I'm heading that way about 4:30 Friday.
I may have a couple of other comforts to offer. I'll elaborate on-site if they work out.
I'll head to the same place as last year, hope to see some others there and claim the spot for us. If anyone is there, we'll invite them to join the fun and help out!
I will have the CB turned on Saturday AM at channel 4 or 8, or both. Call up.
Anyone wanting to caravan from the Prescott area on Friday, call 277-6622. We'll go from PV at about 4:30. If we caravan, we'll meet at IHOP as usual.

Out, damn it. One too many things have sprouted up. Sorry, I'm going to miss it.

:eek::whoops:

I know Kevin is out of town...Did no one else take pics?

I, for one, had a blast.
There is no better exercise than climbing up a 50', near-vertical trail carrying sheets of steel for the FS to pick up at the top! What doesn't kill us makes us stronger! Litter helps us to stay young!
I catch a lot if ribbing over the extravagance of my campsite at Fossil Creek. It is well deserved. This is the only time that I can camp in style. Most of the time, I am limited. At Fossil Creek, I can bring the whole works! I love a well connected camp, and only get to use most of it once each year. It is nice to camp with every possible comfort.
When I bring the firewood, the trailer is needed. Once it is loaded, I will add to it every possible comfort. Without it, I pare down.
The outhouse that I had this year was great fun. Nobody talked, but everybody loved it! When I went to take it down for burial, there was a rut worn in the earth leading to it. Yet nobody ever used it!
Everybody teased me about it, and nobody admitted using it. But at the end of the weekend, it was full, and pungent! It was the brunt and the source of lots of camp jokes.
The best was on Sunday morning, when Mike thought of the person who happened to step in the hole. That would not be good! Brother Rob suggested that we put up a grave stone as a warning. It should say; "Here lies the remains of many great dinners". That might give them a hint of warning to not step in quicksand, or some ugly mud!
That thing got lots of laughs, but the kids liked it. The adults won't talk......

I made good use of it. I thought I gave you kudos for it, but I guess not. My bad. Thanks for setting that up for us.
