ford solenoid

hi there i was wondering why or for what reason would you put a ford solenoid on a chevy and i mean the starting solenoid

ford used a remote solenoid on the firewall. chevys solenoid is on the starter and is notorious for getting hot and not starting. when people say ford solenoid, they are basically referring to a remote mounted solenoid.

yep and chevy was actually embarrassed about it and cam out with there own remote mount solenoid to fix the problem so you didn't have to put a ford part in a chevy. i have the part number somewhere if i toke the time to search for it.
