Oooh - them 1.2 MEG floppies? I just transferred some files with my 8gb thumb drive. To think, I could have done the same thing with only 5,000 of those floppies and saved the $20...

The 5.25" floppies are 1.2 mb. Those eight inchers were much less. Remember how impressed we where when they came out with the 3.5" disks that had 1.44mb? Oh, the days.

And that great protective sheath with the little sliding door thingy was a head-turner too.
 
Not only that, the little lockable tab that an experienced geek could flip out clear across the room with the flick of his little screwdriver was *very* impressive.
 
I realize I am just a 'kid' to many of you but I do recall some of my textbooks in my early college days (mid-90's) coming with 5.25" disks that had sample problems and solutions on them. At least I didn't have to use a slide-rule, ever! What was that like Mike, Steve? :flipoff2:
