My search fu is failing me tonight. Could have sworn I saw someone post up how to access the bulb for the fogs on the 2013 and up LC.

Anyone?

I have part of the bumper fascia pulled away and part of the wheel well liner pulled away, but having a tough time accessing things. Or completely going about it the wrong way.

Sawzall? Or belt sander?

:)

I did it a few weeks ago. It's a tough job.

I took out a few of the fasteners on the bottom of the bumper and inside the wheel well. Just enough to fit my hand in and peek with a flashlight.

Did most of the work by feel, not touch. I remember one side being easier than the other (driver side easier than passenger- maybe)? Start with easier side to get the idea then get on the other side.

Yeah, I was trying by feel, but feel was misleading me. Will try pulling more of the bottom out to get more of a look up inside.

I think I removed 6 clips in total. I was able to put both hands inside the bumper with one holding a flashlight and the other manipulating the bulb. It was a pain and I scratched my arms to hell.

Worst part was I was installing a yellow LED and didn't like it so immediately re-installed old bulbs again.

Well chit. Yeah, already was doing the arm scratching. So you just reached up in there? Didn't do any removal of the black plastic housing that goes around it?

I could see what I was doing however when I needed to turn the bulb and pull out it required both hands so I didn't have the flashlight on it when I was doing that.

I don't remember black plastic housing- just a regular twist socket (1/4 turn) like with the headlights.

I have a 2011- so the fog lamps are slightly different but I can't imagine too different underneath?

Yeah, they changed things in the 2013 and up models. I will try and take a picture. Might require a third arm though. But also will try removing more underneath so I can look up into the housing.

May not help but when I did my 2014 I had already cut away some of the black plastic wheel well to make room for my tires anyway. Still scratched my arms and was once again a "feel" thing but didn't take more than 15 minutes. I don't think the cut away looks bad and it appears to me you lose that section whenever you put on an arb or similar bumper.

Here's a video of how to change them:

Fog Light Replacement 2008-2014 Toyota Land Cruiser 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser 5.7L V8

Same process on the LX 570.

The reflector fogs on my 2013 570 put out a lot more light than the projector highs, with the same Opt7 LED kit in 9005 standard. Both draw 30 watts each bulb. LC has a larger reflector for the highs.

(16+ LX has replaced the headlight grade H11 harness and bulbs with a cheap single diode, cost cutting).

I had seen that video and the parts that they show removing underneath are the same. But on the 2014 the lamp assembly for the fog is different.

You have to actually undo the wiring connection first before you can turn the bulb. Finally accessed things last night and got a couple pics.

the pasenger side on my 2014 was easier to actually get to the fog light but there's a plastic cover on the back of the bulb that made it a bit more difficult to install the bulb, the driver side didn't have the plastic cover on the bag of the housing but was a bit more difficutl to actually get my hand to the bulb, all in all i wouldn't say it was a tough install but more annoying than anything, i ended up going with Morimoto 2stroke LED Foglights and have been very happy with them so far, very bright and have a great warranty(3years)

I grabbed some upgraded LEDs from the Ironman 4th of July sale, got them plugged in, and they won’t fire. I plugged the previous ones in, and now those dont work either. I dont have a multimeter handy, but the fuses are fine and the relay is click away in the fuse box, fog lamp indicator illuminating on the dash…

Any suggestions to check next?

LED's are polarity sensitive.
