I ran one on a 69 1f I had a few years back. Then here in E.Tennessee the weather was colder in the winter than it has been for 20 years.
Yes it helped some then.
No problems with it , except the cost was kinda high, I thought. After paying for that first one, I have made 4 plates exactly as the original for about 20bucks total.
It is actually just a thick plate cross drilled and tapped for a couple of hose fittings and a plug . The only expense was the fittings and the plugs. ( 29 years as a toolmaker with access to materials very cheaply!)
I have used both steel and aluminum for the plates and have notice no difference in warm up times.

It should make it warm up faster, but plenty of people (most?) run without it.

Thanks!
I was hoping to see where the other end of the hoses connected.

mine (same setup above) did not fit. waste of money. A properly rebuilt aisin won't need it.

Other ends hook to head and firewall. I have a brand new THC carb and while it will run fine without the heat riser, the amout of time it takes for the motor to run smoothly on a cold morning is greatly reduced.
