I know shackle reversals tend to be a controversial topic around here, but I’ve installed one on my 84. When I installed the Manafre kit, I did -not - flip my front springs end for end—had no idea that was a thing? To be honest the install instructions were a little… sparse.
Recently I had someone ask if I had done so, and it was the first time I’d heard of it. Sure enough, plain as day it states it in the product description on the Manafre website—“Our kit is designed for the front leaf springs to be flipped to help achieve the proper spring deflection.” Would have been cooler if this had been mentioned in the install instructions, but okay.
My question is, do I really need to do so? Is there a significant difference? Am I even reading that language correctly?
