I bought a flat tow bar for my 40 and I want to flat tow it behind my 80. manufacturer suggests the tow bar not to be at any angle more than 5* pointing down towards the tow vehicle. I'm at abot 10*, tow bar mounted at ~~26" High and the bottom of the tow ball is at ~~18". Any thoughts or suggestions and getting this angle better?
This is what I've come up with:
    1) Lift the 80...not really in the funds right now and I'm considering selling.
    2) I plan on taking a leaf out of the SJs on the 40 so that'll drop it a little.
    3) Is this something to do? Install a drop hitch upside down to raise the angle?

I'm also mounting the brackets to a MAF 4+ flat bumper and I thought about putting the bracket so that they stattle the frame ie....One bolt on the inside of the frame rail and one on the outside.

#3 will work...hitches are designed for ie: flat or 2" drop, 4" drop or 2" raise, etc....no problems with that.

Excellent, I didn't know if that was "ok" to do or not

Wal-Mart carries drop hitches in 2", 3 1/4", and 5 1/4". You can also flip them upside down to give you some rise. Cost is $19.96 for the drop hitch. For $19.74 though, you can get the 2" or 3 1/4" variety that includes a 2" hitch ball and a pin. Makes a ton of sense.

Or, you could take air out of the tires for free.

(And ruin your tires on a long tow....)

I'm back the third week of Sept., --my garage is ready and willing for a birf job.

Engine swap might bemore difficult as I have no clue how to do one of those....

You might need the experienced folk on that...

    Lemme know.

You find the garage; I'll come lend a hand. I've swapped a few motors...sorry I missed this weekend. Was looking forward to having a good time.

Thanks Nick for your offer, I'll hunt you down when I find a garage. My little one car garage just will not work unless we rip out a wall and raise the roof ;)

If the driveway is reasonably flat you can do the swap there on nice weather days. I've even pulled motors on gravel under a shade tree. :)

The driveway is flat but pretty narrow, it may work but I think I would rather find a garage for now.
