how many do you really nead. saw a set of four at sears, is that big enough? what sizes are most necessary? I know we need them for brakes. is that their only use?

Muchas gracias

I use mine on brake and fuel line fittings, i have the 4 pc craftsman metric set . Havent needed any other sizes yet.

I use them on some nut and bolts that I am worried about rounding off.

Take a look at the MAC 10/12 flare wrench. It fits better than the rest so I always borrow that one from my son when I need to do brake work.

You need almost exclusively the 10 and the 12. It occasionally helps to have more than 1 at a time on some of the brake fittings. I would buy the Craftsman 4 pc. set and 2 extra 10/12s.

I use mine frequently. I also got the 4 pc set from craftsman.

Thanks

looks like ill be paying sears a visit

For many import brake systems you'll need 10mm & 12mm. The sizes you need will depend on what you're working on. They are very handy for brake lines or any connection where you can't use a full 6-pt box-end and a spanner won't give you enough purchase.

don't forget that they should be used on power steering lines :D

i've got one full set, only ever use sthe 10x12. also bought a 10x12 to keep in both rigs

I use the 16mm and 18mm on power steering lines, but then again if you are replacing the line I find it easier to cut the line off just above the fitting with a bolt cutter (don't want to hacksaw it as shavings can get in the system) and then use a six point socket. 10mm and 12mm get used on brake lines. IME Craftsman line wrenches don't work as well as Snap On or Mac.
