Flange bolts not torquing to spec (1 Viewer)

I was checking my brakes the other weekend and noticed a had a loose nut on the flange bolts. Went to go torque it to 26lbs and it would just keep spinning. So I decided to back one all the way out, then try to torque that one down, the same thing happened. There was a handful that did torque to spec. Should I replace these? How do you replace them? What would be wrong it?

Assuming you're referring to your drive flanges, yes, you need to install new studs, nuts, cone washers. They have stripped, possibly in the hub. Be prepared for more work than you plan for, depending on what part decided to strip. Possibly end up Helicoil in worst case or a new hub.

Yes those are the ones I was talking about. I don’t know exactly how that’s all put together. But it’s just those bolts on the outside, so why would the hub need replaced? Sorry, new to the LC world.

These are studs screwed into the steel body of the hub. If the stud is spinning in the hub, then you need to check the threads in the hub.

Most likely it's just the nut stripped on the stud, so studs, cone washers, washers, and nuts need to be ordered.

Ah I see! Thank you! I will check those out. I had a rear brake caliper blow out on me so I’m replacing both rear calipers. I’m getting a case of “while you’re in there” lol
