That was never an option in the US. Kinda strange that it's in W. Virginia, but he wants the currency in British Pounds, eh? I'd buy it for the novelty and put new icons in it, but not for $18 as a starting point - yeesh. Pity the poor Brit who has to pay $30 in shipping from the US, ya know?

Hey Bear - where'd ya get your "RR recovery vehicle" sticker?? I have one in my 93, but need one for the 97 now. I put mine on static cling vinyl, which in turn sticks to the window without adhesive. Been there for about 100,000 miles now.

I just thought it was wierd, something I hadnt seen before, and noticed it does look exactly like all the switches in my 80..

Ive seen these switches only in Jap import SURFS , not 80 series

LX450 came out with the adjustable height suspension. I'm not sure if they are the same thing.

In the US that is on the LX470.

LX470, not LX450, I have one of each so I oughtta know :) . The LX470 has a different switch it is a 4 position rotary switch to adjust the shocks (comfort>sport) and a rocker switch to adjust the height (L-N-H).:cheers:

i've never seen one of those before

The switch probably goes with these non-US shocks from SOR. I'm sure there's some high dollar parts missing betwen that switch and those shocks though.;)

Sorry for the hi-jack;

Doug - Do you have a method for putting on new icons that looks decent? I have some OEM fog light switches I would like be able to use for other things.

:cheers:

Hey Doug, I just went over to the graphics shop and had it printed on a white die cut. I don't recall the font size or type but I'm sure you'd want to pick out your own style. I just wanted it to be 22" long and 1-1/2" tall. I'd say that length is perfect, lines up with the edge and wiper.

Yup, my '90 HDJ81 has one located beside the rear heater switch. I don't know if mine is still connected to anything since the PO installed a lift and Rancho shocks. EPC indicates that it was available between 90/01 to 98/01 for JDM HZJ81, FZJ80, FJ80, and HDJ81. I couldn't find any reference to it in my "Repair Manual for Chassis & Body for Europe & General" that I bought in Oz.

Montana, I have a special machine that can both print on and cut out complex shapes using sheets of plastic such as vinyl letter thickness. I used to use it for prototypes and it's a pain to set up and use. If I were replacing the icons on that switch I'd likely do a semi-cop out and print a new word on a clear adhesive backed film instead of trying to make an actual icon like a lamp or something. So, "fog" instead of "insert cool looking pictograph of a fog light".

So, it can be done but for a single button it would be hours of work to set up.

Bear,

I got my "Range Rover Recovery Vehicle" about 8 years ago from someone on 80s Cool and now that I have a second 80 I need to put this on it too.
