A friend has a 40th anniversary 80 sitting on 35's and he's regearing. He asked if I'd want his rings and pinions for the 60. But neither of us know if they will fit the 60 carrier. Any thoughts? My 2F could use a little help with the 33's.

rear will work, front wont, I have a pair of 80 series gears in my Fj60

I have 4.11's from my 62 that I'm selling. Send me a PM if interested.

As Pimp already said, only the rear will work from the 80. The front is a high pinion 8".

And you shouldn't have a problem finding another rear to have a matching set. They are pretty easy to come by. I gave my last set away.

yup, I had one out of my 80 and Junk sent me one of his old ones.....amazing Junks Junk was not Junk :D

I'm not sure I want to learn any more about Junk's junk. Maybe Junk's momma's junk. But probably not even that.

Thanks for the responses all. Is there a real difference (strength wise, pinion gear teeth, etc), that will make one (62 vs 80) a better candidate than the other? I realize that I can get a 62 front with lower mileage than either rears, just curious if one is preferred over the other.

if the r&p is in good shape, and comes from a truck w/ decent maintenance, it isn't likely to fail unless you really hammer it.
