Hello, have a 97 80's cruiser which pedal seems to go down to the floor and starts braking once all the way down. The brake booster was changed about a month ago now am having this pedal issue. I have checked for leaks on each corner as well and around the booster and mc but no leaks are visible. When the truck is off the pedal is pressed and gets hard once turned on the pedal goes all the way down and feels very mushy. Can anyone give me any advise as to what it could be? Could it be the booster rod in need of adjustment or do I need to bleed the master cylinder any advise would be appreciated.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you replaced your booster with an A1-Cardone eh?

The booster sounds to be working. Was the hydraulic system opened when the booster was installed, if so, was it fully, properly bled? How is the fluid condition, black and gooey or clear?

Did the old booster get wrecked by a leaky master? Leaking into it? Pull the master and look at the back of it. Shouldn’t need to remove lines.

Either way it sounds like a hyd issue not booster.

If thats not it, suck out old fluid and bleed everything with fresh.

Thank you for the prompt reply, yes the system opened not fully bled, fluid is somewhat clear not dark. The old booster suddenly got really hard to the point of applying full force for the cruiser to bearly stop. The master was not leaky but will double check, master seems to be OEM. Will check all these and try to bleed with fresh oil. Let's see what happens. Thanks for the advise, info. Will keep you posted.
