I have a 88 FJ62 and it hesitates when it's not warmed up. Once she's warm there is no problem. I can feel it change over at a certain temp when I'm driving. I have replaced the vacuum lines, water temp switch, and water temp sensor. Would the BSVS vavlve on the thermostat housing be the problem? Is there a way to test this valve first? There is a picture of this valve on the link below.

Look at your FSM and check things related to the cold start injector?

I have the same problem and I haven't looked into yet.

Cleaned the cold start injector. Had a little better result. The problem goes away quicker and also runs smoother. Still have to warm her up. Anything else I could try. I've search for a free download for a fj62 1988 but can't find one.

CSI only runs when the key is in the crank position, and only for a few seconds. It's not involved in cold running issues.

If you're living in a warmer climate and it's sitting for long periods of time, it could be your fuel injection.

Replaced an 02 sensor in and it runs like a dream

Congrats! You should replace the other if you've replaced only one. Sounds like the heating element in the sensor was bringing it up to temperature fast enough so the ECU was getting bad info until the exhaust brought it up to proper temp.
