I’m changing fuel filter about every 30,000 miles on my daily driver (8,000 to 10,000 miles/yr.) sound reasonable?

Good idea.
Have you ever shook out the contents? That might offer good justification.
Besides that, it's cheap and easy insurance.
Real easy compared to Fzj80.

Mine failed years back around 290,000 ish miles. So the interval for an oem pump should be over 100,000 mi?

My truck has over 300,000 miles so it's a good indication of how well the trucks can age. Lot's of other trucks with higher mileage than mine too. Original engine by the way

I swap have swapped the fuel filter once. Should last more than 10,000 mi for sure.
