Hi:

I've got a 1990 FJ62 with a newly rebuilt engine. Runs great and starts great cold. When it heats up in the sun it won't start. A little work shows that it never loses spark, but that it does lose injector pulse when it heats up [pulses once, then quits].

So...I think it's probably an ECU problem.

Questions:

--anyone have any experinece like this?

--who carries used ECU's?

--is it a problem matching ECUs to a specific engine [ie by year, serial number, etc]

Thanks for any help!

I would look at the EFI main relay, they are a know possible trouble spot on the 3fe, sometimes when hot they won't start.

used ECU, I would post in the wanted section here or try Cruiserparts.net

I very much doubt its the ECU however.

Would there be a spark if the EFI relay was bad?

good point, prolly not eh?

hmmm?
