I have 88 FJ62, recently the brake light warning light has been staying on even when the brake handle is down. I thought it might be the e-brake switch so I removed it and did a quick continuity test (seemed to be ok). I then put a jumper wire on the vehicle side connector, hoping that it would close the loop but that did not turn off the light. Has anyone experienced this problem? Any suggestions for quick troubleshooting?

Thanks.

I think this light is also triggered by the master cylinder if you are low on fluid or if it is defective.

Yep. add some fluid and see if ithe light goes out.

Thanks!

:) I just added a few ounces of brake fluid and it did the trick. No more light!

Thanks, you guys are the best.:)
