FJ60 Throttle linkage in a 40?

Wondering if the carb throttle linkage from an '86 FJ60 would work in my '82 40... without expert fabbing skills!

Not really, some of the parts are similar but the mounting is entirely different.

Your '82 40 doesn't use a cable, it uses rods. Check SOR for the diagram.

Roger that... If PO hadn't replaced the original carb with a Holley via cable hook up and discarded the mechanical linkage, all would be good. As it is, I'm attempting to return things under the hood to a more original state... I got a great deal on an air cleaner assembly (thanks to GA Architect). I purchased a Trollhole carb with cable hook up but now am thinking I'd like to source out the original linkage also... Architect had a spare linkage from a 60 so I was hoping they might be compatible!
