I'd like to upgrade my rear wiper arm, and was looking at 2003-2009 4runner arms, but they have that same toyota specifc connector that I don't like on my
2014 yaris.
Is there an upgrade option that uses the standard jhook? I just want to buy wipes i want without any extra worries about compatability(Ie rainex).
I have jhook adapters on the front as a temporary soloution, but was hoping to gradually start swapping over to a oem upgrade.

Thanks,

Cal/Eric-

I just did the wiper upgrade in the front with the early 90s 4runner arms. It works great. I’ve heard there’s an 80 rear arm upgrade but don’t know the part numbers.

Thanks!

Here are the front arm part #s

Arms 85221-35080 (two LH wiper arms)
Nuts 90179-08113
Nut caps 85192-12800

I was thinking of upgrading but wanted to verify an owner prior had not only done so. Assume the 4Runner arms have hooks? Mine currently have two screws attaching blade to arms, so assuming those are original?

Thread diversion - 80 series interior mirror is also a direct swap for the 60 series mirror.

I recently installed new rearview mirror ($89.50) and mounting plate cover ($3.79) and think these are still the 62 version. Is the 80 better?

Also any idea where to buy the "absorber" that goes between back of mirror arm and windshield to prevent vibration? I see them on eBay auctions with the mirror but not sure the part number. Looks like NLA for 62 but guessing it is comparable from another Toyota. Looks to be a round rubber cylinder like 1.5" long.

The 80 mirror is maybe a minor improvement over a 60 series mirror because it is slightly larger. I went with the 80 mirror because I got a used one for about $5 and wanted to test fit it. It works so I left it in. Think of it as an alternative to the 60 series mirror if sourcing a replacement 60 series mirror is costly or difficult.
