Finally getting around to installing the hand throttle kit. Can someone send a picture of the correct bracket placement installation? Thanks in advance...

Here's what mine looks like installed.

On my 87 fj60 it does use the bracket.

So there is a "bracket" and "non bracket version"? How can one tell the difference?

The bracket can be installed.... it just isn't required. Mine's been working fine for 26 years without the bracket... I don't remember now why I didn't install the bracket. Maybe just lazy.

the bracket is there to keep the jacket from moving, so the cable is actually pulling the throttle. would work without, but if you have it, you may as well install it...

Still available from Toyota last time I checked.

I bought one with the bracket from some vendor on mud a couple of years ago. It looked like an OEM kit. Damned if I can remember right now though. I do remember having to bend the bracket and modify the mount holes a bit so it would allow full return to idle.

sor sells the kit but it is 160 or 180 all I need is the bracket I removed mine from an fj62 and the bracket will not work on an fj60. the problem most people have when installing these with the throttle not returning to idle or idling too high is actually an incorrectly installed accelerator linkage rod. The rod that goes between the carb and the long rod which comes up the firewall from the pedal can be installed 180 degrees out. Your throttle pedal will actually be positioned considerably higher than it should be if that rod is installed backwards.

I just had that rod out the other day for a different issue. I thought about that it could possible go in the wrong way but that would have made the vertical rod not plumb, it would have had a lean to it. While we are talking linkage though, there is a big bolt under the gas pedal that acts like a stop. Is there an adjustment procedure and spec for this bolt?
