A friend has a gas tank for a fj40 New. It has been sitting around for quite a while now. Anyone knows a price or value of it? I'm just helping out a friend. I only have the 60 series model.
Thanks in advance

@jgoptions

Make a choice: FJ60 (title) or FJ40 (note). Fuel tank for which model?

OEM? Part number? Picture? Steel or plastic?

Picture?

A pic would definitely help. Also do you know what year it is for? I believe there were some changes through the production run.

I replaced my 77 tank back in 2009--from CCOT.--Rinsed and flushed twice. Scuff sanded exterior and POR 15'd it. So far it seems to be fine.
They have galv replica tanks available now--$340

Fj40 gas tank. He mentioned it was sitting around in storage for a longtime already. A few pics..
Might look like it has been used already from pics. No idea what year it was from unfortunately.

new replica from CCOT cost 343 + shipping..
This one for 72?-78 model years.

I will guess 100-200$ for yours if it not bad rusted

P.S. I have see somebody sailing early FJ40 tank in good condition for 70$ ...for year or more..

I just reconfirmed it is a new tank that his dad bought a longtime ago. Sat in storage ever since never been used.

It has some surface rust and age sign.. not sure if someone will pay more or equal to replica cost at such condition..
You can try to re-fresh condition .. it can increase the price..
