Going to purchase a rotisserie for the FJ60.

Anyone know offhand how much does a FJ60/62 body weigh? All glass, dash, hardware, etc. stripped.

Thanks-

Shane

Back-of-Envelope educated guess:
5360 lbs GVWR from door jamb
-1900 lbs engine/transmission/transfer
-1200 lbs axles/wheels
-1000 lbs glass/interior
1260 lbs carcass weight~~ Use 2000 lbs as minimum?

2F long block without transmission or transfer case weighs 650 lbs.

I was uneducated guessing at +/- 2500. Looking at the different wt capacities, little price difference between the 2000-4000 lb units. Prolly rolling with:

Appreciate the input and advice…

Stan-

Holy crap! Are those additional supports you fab'd required to make the Titan work or will it get the job done straight out of the box? If req'd, would it be possible to get the specs of the supports?

I made the trusses so each body mount can be supported. I would not trust just supporting the body at the fire wall mounts and rear most mounts alone and that is all you will get with just the twirler. There are no "specs". I just built the trusses out of 2x2 and 3/4" square tube. I'd worry about bending the body without trusses of some sort.

Much appreciated!

The body of the 60 can't possibly weigh 2000lbs. I have my spares truck sans motor and axles on some stumps in my yard and I can lift the back of it by myself. Granted the fulcrum point is about at the a pillar but still. I'd guess it's less than 1000 lbs. The curb weight of the 60 is about 4250 lbs. Can't take the GVWR into account here.
