FJ60 - A/C Questions (1 Viewer)

Hi All -

Thought I would attempt to get my A/C working. Never worked since I got the vehicle. I am also new to A/C work. Replaced the condenser, dryer, compressor, inside cooling unit and expansion valve (all Denso), and all o-rings to green R134 o-rings. Tried pulling a vacuum, it did not hold for long. Any particular place I should look for a leak? System was previously converted to R134.

you'll need to put some fluorescent dye and refrigerant in the system then look for the leak w/ a black light. Best to take it to a shop and let them look

I think it figure it out. O-rings under the Schrader valve plates on the compressor were the culprit. Replaced them with the green 134 kind. I also forgot to upgrade the O-rings on the lines running into the compressor itself. Held vacuum for hours last night. Going to check it again this morning.
