After reading these forums for a while it seems the rear plate lamp on the 60/62's is a common problem and a big wad of $$ to replace....why?
I guess what I'm asking is what is the part that breaks? When I picked mine up, it didn't work, after a little time with the multimeter we traced it to no greound...seems that mine was setup to ground to the body via hinges....and it wasn't grounding. We ran a thick ground from the rear X-member up through the loom and just grounded it to one of the parts in side the gate...it was a pita to run another wire through the rubber accordioned Loom, but now my plate lamps are t5he brightest lights on the whole damn truck.
Gueesing my issue isn't the same as everyone elses as even with a new lamp, it wouldn't work with no ground....but I figured I'd pass it along.
