Long day, but the frame is out!!!! Overall not looking that bad. Next step is cutting out the rotten c-channels.

Got some help this weekend as I started cleaning up the frame, axles, and suspension. I’ll give her huge props...my wife may not know enough to help on the mechanical side, but she won’t complain if asked to clean up grease and prep for paint.

I don’t know what kind of coatings were on this frame, but it looks like a couple different ones. All combined with dirt and dust, they made the frame look like it had a lot of rust. It’s been hard to get them off...even with wire wheels and a 4K PSI pressure washer. The upside is that the frame is actually looking really good. Other than the c-channels, a section of the rear cross-member, and a couple of the body mount cups, the rest is just a little surface rust. Most everything forward of the top rear shock mount actually still has the original paint.

Still cleaning it all up, hitting it with rust converter, and then a coat of rust bullet.
