First off you can flame me if you want .

I have tried to do research on this but cant find anything. I dont have all day to search either.

South of Baghdad I keep seeing a pickup with a fj55 front on it. Is this an Iraqi frankenstien or could it be real. I couldn't take pictures because I was pulling security. I have seen it three times. I will try to get pictures next time I go there. We just dont go thre much because they are behaving in that little town.

Any thoughts???

75 series pick up maybe?

Ya, it's probably a 75 series. I see them all over Kuwait. Only seen a couple in Iraq. Coolest thing I saw in Iraq was a 45 lv. I was awestruck. Did it look like this?

Nope not them. There are plenty of those here. i
It has the exact grill and slight rolled front look of a FJ55. But the bed looks like a fj45. The cab looks factory from a distance. 50M is as close as I have gotten to it. I guess I will have to get a picture somehow. The guy hauls things up and down the highway all day long in it. I wish I was doing checkpoints down there I would get great photos. I stopped every Land Cruiser that came through my checkpoints for my first 8 months here. My buddies always new who I was searching.

It is a 2 door.
I would say it was a custom job but the paint is ancient. I guess the best way to describe it is a fj45 with a fj55 front clip on it. But it looks factory It is driving me crazy.
I usually go there once a week .
I will find that thing and get a picture.

There were some oddballs mfd. i've seen pics of 50 series firetrucks and ambulances, so i wouldn't doubt it.

My first thought was a firetruck, minus some of the 'fire stuff'. I want to add my thanks for your service, and I can't wait to see pics of this thing.

Thanks for not thinking I am crazy.
I know it is a factory job. The locals looted all kinds of vehicals from the government when we invaded. They are now starting to get impounded by the traffic police. The impound yards are full of saddams old vehicals. This thing is in a small town without traffic police. Most of the guys in stolen vehicals get nabbed when going to the big markets in Baghdad.
The poor guys all have old Land Cruisers. The petina on them is beautiful. The wealthier people have Bongo trucks. There is an unlimited supply of old Land Cruiser parts here. I have seen junkyards where all the old taxi cabs are stacked three high. The cabs were fj55's and fj60's. The markets are full of fj45's and troopys. They only have rust if they were down near Basra (persian gulf) I will share the photos when I return home.

Thanks for the kind words about serving...I love what I do. And I love America.

Now, is there any truck more beautiful than this one?

I am now determined to get a picture of that thing.
The front looks like the green one above but the back of the cab looks like a fj45.
The second I get a pic i will post.
There are tons of strange cars here. There are still lots of rich people here. There are some sweet American cars from the 50's here. I just saw a 58 thunderbird ragtop yesterday.
