Greg.
What model is the one with the hearse roof?

I don't think they had a special model number, but maybe a trim code in the VIN. Dan would know.

I've only seen them "in the flesh" in central america. Beyond cool-factor I don't think that the high roof (for troopy use) and ambulance doors really add any additional utility over the US version. But then there's nothing wrong with cool factor.

I can't decide if this new source of exotic LCs is an asset to be valued here or a walk down the primrose path. That said, many of the trucks listed are only things most of us have seen in books.

Are these sitting out on Central? Or am I thinking of another guy? I'd like to drive by to take a look.

Yes.

The Patrol is very rare. The FJ45 LPB is worth the trip though. I started to ask the price on the black FJ40 but Connie put a halt to that. She was patiently waiting while I roamed the lot. When my eyes lit up like a kid wanting a new puppy, she gave me "the look." This one ===>

I knew it was time to leave.

:frown:

So, you didn't get Ross' rig then?

This is what that ?J61 looks like. I am 99% sure that it is LHD but it appears these were only in Japan and OZ so it would seem logical that it was RHD. Maybe I was wrong about that. It has black wheel well flares just like the picture below. No bull bar. Single round headlights. The rear bumper has a swing out tire carrier (no spare on it at that time.) The carrier *might* have been OEM but it wasn't obvious one way or the other.

The one on Central also has a sunroof. (Any cruiser worth having has a sun roof. :D)

I stopped by this guys place today. That FJ45 truck is pretty sweet. Looks really good. Has about 50K miles and they are asking $22,000. I just don't see how people do it to buy such and old truck. I guess you can't put a price on nostalgia.

He's also got 2 troopies in different levels of disrepair. I can't justify any of them but I could be talked into a fj45 truck short or long for a lower price.

*I'll* be in trouble when the 70's start showing up...

Cash buyers or personal line of credit.

I may go look at the 45.

Dan,
He might cut a deal for a troopy, the FJ45 LPB, the black FJ40, and maybe throw in the Patrol if you want to swap him your lumpy old Dodge car.

Seeing as how it never moves from your garage except to fix something on it, you should consider making a deal. :D

If you are serious, you probably want to get by there pretty quick. If 'pimp hears about that one he might add it to the horde. I planned to get by there one day this week and lift the hood. I don't know if it is a gasser or a diseasel and I don't know what year it is. If you get all of those then save the black FJ40 for me. I liked that one a LOT.

When he starts showing up with lhd troopies, then I'm in trouble....

The troopies don't do much for me. I guess it's the long wheelbase and the huge rear overhang or something... or I just cannot get past the RHD thing.

The guy told me the 45 pickup was on ebay but I couldn't find it a second ago when I looked to post a link.
