quick question on FJ45 LWB trucks
-what is the wheel base on these trucks? is it 116" hub to hub?
-when they say FJ45 long bed, are the pretty much talking about the LWB 45s or did the SWB 45s came out with long beds too?

Long bed or LWB would mean FJ45 LPB ( the bed with five hooks on the side) 84" by 64" bed roughly

116" sound right but I'd have to check - can do it tomorrow.... just hitting the sack now

SWB or short bed would refer to the shorter bed that resembles a 40 tub without the top on - i.e. flat sides

LWB has a wheel base of 116.1 inches

SWB has a wheel base of 104.3 inches

I assume you are going through the registration process for Kalifornistan, and need your weight certificate to get the tags...been there, and done that. It is not expensive, and gives the exact figure for your rig so they cannot give you any grief. Be sure that the license plate and VIN are noted on the certificate. I went through many, many months of back and forth nonsense with them over the weight, and an actual certificate was the only path they would accept. BTW, you have to love/loathe how this state classifies all pickups as commercial vehicles, regardless of use, and charges accordingly.

Mine came in at 3,640 pounds, but with 60 series axles, 1HD-FT, H55F and Splitcase. No fluids in the truck, and interior pretty much stripped other than the seats. Likely will add a few hundred pounds with the final weight.

Hi Steve
You are right on about the registration, I have it in non op right now and moving forward to completing the process. The brakes are holding me up at the moment and weight slip. I will eventually do a resto like yours however I want to drive it for awhile before I get to that and collect parts in the meantime. BTW I was by Valley last week again and took a peke at yours it looks so nice with all of the mods. Bet you are anxious to get it going and on the road, in time my friend. Best Skip

Cirbo...
TNX for the input, mine is bone stock hoping to be close to Steve's, I will do what can to get the extras off and that weight down, looks like another couple of weeks and it will be going. I am bogged down now with personal stuff but looking at it every day is driving me crazy.
