I'm working on rebuilding a 64 fj45 Long Bed Pickup and just realized that one of the rear springs has a broken main leaf. So, I'm looking for a set of stock used springs, or a spring that would work from a different vehicle. The springs mounts are 50" apart but I'm also not opposed to cutting these off and making a new set of mounts, if necessary.

At this point, I'm leaning towards going with a SOA conversion and a want a fairly flat spring to keep the SOA at a minimum height.

Anyone have a set of springs for sale or have any ideas on what after other springs would work?

Alcan or national could make you a replacement from the one good one you have left, the whole pack or just the one leaf.
OME, Belton and TIC make 2" lift springs....

Also, as far as I've seen, all 45 series rear spings are the same length, so a rear from a SWB or LV would work for you.

The spring used on the back of blazers (and some other chevy trucks/vans) are 51" with a centered pin, dimensionally the same as 45 springs, just that they are 4 leafs instead of 7? or 8?. The only other difference is the chevy springs have the bushings molded into the spring eyes. You can either use what it has, or add a little heat to remove them. Seems to me the sleeve through the bushing is just a little to wide too, but nothing that should cause a hammer or grinder to hesitate.

They should be simular for load capacity too.

I have a set of each in the garage next to each other. I can take pictures and measurments tonight if you like.

BTW, the blazer springs are used SOA stock.
If you really need the stock springs for a resto, I could part with them, but I want to use them for my 55 eveantually....

Not doing a resto. Just looking for options. I'm not opposed to going SUA with a lift spring but the kits for the 45 are more than I want to pay. The Blazer springs sound promising. A picture would be great if you can.

Here are some pictures.
The blazer spring is in front

and of course the 45 springs have the military wrap at both ends, where as the blazer springs don't.

The blazer spring appears to be slightly longer, 1/2" to 1" maybe. the balzer spring is 4 leaves and the 45 spring is 7 (someone added a big over load to the middle of this pack).

now for the width.... the blazer spring is 2-1/2" wide, and its bushing is 3"....
the 45 spring is 2-3/4 wide and the bushing is 3-1/4.

They don't look like they would carry the load when compared to the 45 springs, but Mudrak used to run these on his 45 a few years ago. He has since switched to some soooper long troopy springs from OME. And the applications are real simular.
Also, the blazer springs have wear pads between the leaf ends.
Miker, if you want to try the blazer spring, come and get em'

And another thing........
I just noticed the post is titled Long Bed springs.....
The springs I have in the Photo are from a SWB non removable top, and are the same as the springs on my SWB removable top. I think the LWB is the same, but have never personally confirmed it.

Thanks for the pics and great info! I might take you up on the offer. Where are you located? And are you planning on attending the swap meet in Stockton on April 22nd? I plan to be there.

Also, do you know what year blazer the springs came from?

So the year of the spring is unknown.
I'm heading to Pick-n-pull now and will poke around for some year/aplications.
I'm in Rio Vista, less than an hour outside Sacramento if you want to see the springs side by side..... Or I can take them to the swap meet next weekend, up to you. I will PM you my #.
