This seems wrong. What should the routing be?

What year is the 45? 45 was only sold in the US thru 1967. During that time only one vent tube off the tank. Can't see the fill neck to check the type tank you have. 9/72 fill neck changed a bunch. 71/72 era had a few more vent openings in the FJ40 tanks in the US.

I'm beginning to think the only thing from 1965 is the VIN.

I see three paths:

1. I keep the tank as is (it is solid, rust free and worked fine)?
2. Keep the tank and add a fuel separator?
3. Go in search of a 1965 tank?

I'm just starting to dig into it now that the days are shorter - it has some Frankenstein parts from POs. The engine is a 2F if that changes anything...

If you wanted to be hard core, you could modify your late model tank to look like an earlier tank by getting rid of some of those fuel separator connections. No, it doesn't matter, as along as your tank holds gas, and the gas makes it to the engine.
