So I'm no expert, but the way I understand it is when you running a 91/2" in the front your running on the back side of the gear= the weaker side.
when you running a High pinion 8" front axle it has reverse cut gears and your running on the front side of the gears = the stronger side and why IMHO the 91/2" is only marginally stronger then the high pinion 8" in the front axle
