I was hoping to get it started at nine.

Just letting everyone this build will be done in the garage, so weather won't be an issue.

 That's the problem with the youth these days. They procrastinate, then always forget something at the last minute. But you are in luck, I didn't use the ones that came with my kit. If you would have mentioned this earlier, I could have dropped them off with the seals. I can leave the here tommorow and you can pick them up when you want. Fix that thing and :steer: !

 Then of course sometimes you refuse to think as you start getting older. If the shims already in there aren't f'd up, can't you reuse them. you already have the thickness you need. I used my old ones and got the right tension (via fish scale method).

Shims can be re-used. Don't fret. I will try to make it for the first part of the day. I have to be at work by 12pm.

You are right that I waited to the last second on this on. Not my best moment I will attempt for sure. The shims would be great. I am free all of tomorrow and I can meet you any where to pick those up.

The shims should mostly like be able to be re-used if everything fits the same after everything goes back together. They are more of a just in case.

Beno that would be great if you could make it in the morning.

Paul,

PM'd you ealier. If you want them for JIC, they will be there.

I got your PM this morning. Thanks a ton for setting those out for me. I am actually leaving right now to go pick them up.

Does anyone have the shims that work with the knuckles?

I'm glad you couldn't spend your money on them. I have two sets I'll bring over, but as has been said, you should be able to reuse your old ones.

Huge Thanks

I would like to give a big thanks to everyone who has able to show up or helped with parts. (Rudy, Jon, Daisy, Jarred, Andrew, Chris, and Ali) My 2.5 OME lift looks great. I couldn't have asked for a better group of guys to have help me. For everyone who was able to make it my father also sends his thanks and regards; he was unable to make it because of a work conflict, but he hopes to see you guys soon. Thanks for all the help. This goes for anybody in the club after next friday my father and I are free for two weeks before we both start up school again, so if anybody needs help let us know.

Thanks a ton,
Paul and Cy

The group that came didn't have time to do knuckles, but around 4 Ali stopped by and we have made rough plans for me to rebuild my knuckles at his house, once I'm through finals on Wednesday.

Make sure you bring the extra shims, even if you don't need them. Also, since you are up in that neck of the woods, you should have Diesel Dan do an expert rebuild of your Aisins....

Pauls hubs are Warn.
I also have a set of Aisins that I snagged from a junkyard, that I need Dan to look at them so I know what to get to finish them out.

Looks good! Gives it a nice proud stance!

Jarred

It really does, and I can't wait to get my 33" on later this week. Then it look it a little more balanced.

Make sure they are 30 spline, not 26.

You just need the later model birfields to use the Aisin's you picked up. I'm 99% sure of that (it is POSSIBLE that you already have the late model birfs with your warns, not likely, but...)

Do the knuckles next week and I've got a set of the axle shafts/birfields that I'd be willing to let you take if you replace them within a few months, or I'd sell them for a not particularly market rate (read: expensive) or something.

Or just get some late model birfields from Classic cruisers, or cruiser outfitters or something. This would be a convenient time to do the swap, but not necessary (since you've got the grenades.. err... Warns).
