fj40 Wiring issue: Gauges work sometimes (1 Viewer)

Working on some wiring issues on my 76 fj40. When the starter ground is connected the fuel and oil pressure gauges do not work. If I disconnect the starter ground, the gauges are operational. Guessing I have a short to find or could it be another ground that may be disconnected or loose?

I had the same problem on my 76. Cleaned all grounding points on the cluster but had intermittent success. Then I just made a dedicated ground wire with a quick disconnect so I could still get the cluster out when needed. Solved my issue.
