How do you disconnect the wiper motor from the wiper linkage to remove the motor? ('76 FJ40)

...talk about terse. Someone saved a lot of printing ink on this set of instructions.
 
I did all that. The worm drive shaft is still attached to the wiper linkage. What is this link they are talking about and how is it removed? I see no obvious way without a special puller to remove the linkage arm that is press fit onto to drive shaft spline.

The "link" is the bar between the to wiper arm studs.
 
are you wanting the motor to separate from the link assembly?
I've done it like the FSM shows, I use a big screw driver or small pry bar to pry the the link off the ball on the wiper arm

Thanks all. The pry bar worked. Not knowing that the ball just popped out of the socket, I didn’t want to use too much force.
