Im trying to install a free pre-welded lincoln locked third member into my 75 fj40......ive never taken apart a fj axle but have done several minitruck axles
my question is after i pull the rear cover,center block,and c-clips does the axles pull right out and leave the backing plate and brakes still attached?
on a mini truck you have to undo the brake line and backing plate and pull the axle along with the plate and brakes......im hoping to avoid this on my rusty old 40 due to fear of broken stuff
if anyone has taken both apart could you please let me know what im up against
