So, I've got a 72' FJ40 that I'm looking to outfit with a steering wheel. I've found that the one that I've got to work with is from a slightly later era (73'?). It's the one with the red decorative center "button" and 3 horn buttons on the spokes of the wheel. I believe that the OEM steering wheel for this year is the older style with the center horn button. Does anyone know if I can make this newer era horn fit properly on the steering column of the 72'? At first glance it seems like it'd fit but it doesn't seem like the brass horn ring makes the right contacts, nor does it seem like the wheel sits far enough back on the column - there would be like a 1" opening between the column & the steering wheel. Since I'm sure I'm not explaining this well, I'm attaching photos.

Ideally, I could make this wheel work OR I could find someone looking to part with a 72' wheel ready to go at a reasonable cost and pass this wheel along to someone else.
