Looking for some alternatives for the rear tailgate doors on my 71 FJ40, the old ones are worn and hard to get a correct measurement from but in seems they are 9mm wide and 4mm thick. It comes up in a search on mud as a possible new one piece strip but lists 5 seperate pieces in the Toyota parts catalogue?
The one piece would cost around $100 and l would potentially need two, one for each side.So looking to see what others have used, found a EPDM sponge strip that measures 10mm wide by 4.5 thick and at $2.70/m am considering trying it.

This is what I use in a pinch, literally...
Its simply 2 small bulbs that you can easily cut or even tear down the middle. Cheap and you can find it at most Lowes, Ace, Home Depot or the like. Clean the surface with some denatured alcohol and trim to fit. 1  job.

@POTATO LAUNCHER AND I just used some of this to help put an airtight seal around the top of my new radiator. Good stuff & easy to work with.

Might try and source some D type rubber and give it a go, thanks Potato Launcher.
If it’s no good I’ll put an order in to cityracer, waiting on the 5 speed gear knobs to come back in stock😉

Found some d rubber and gave that a try at $4 a roll, winning. Think it turned out alright put an extra bit on the lhr door but pulled it off after l realised it didn’t need it, also glued the ends on top to stop any water and crap getting into the seal.
