The heater shutoff valve for my '76 FJ40 is leaking. Does anyone have one that isn't clogged and, hopefully, doesn't leak that they'd be willing to sell? I believe the OEM part # is 87240.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, can you post a picture. I'll give you one if I have it. this thing - from the web?

Paul! Thanks for the reply. I'm on a conference call right now (kinda boring one obviously!). So, I can't run out to the 40, but here is a weblink that shows it.

Just saw your pic. Yes, that's it!

Thanks,
Mike

Where is it leaking?

Ugh, not sure that can be fixed. Mine leaked internally, so couldn't keep hot antifreeze from circulating through the heater when the was knob pushed all the way in. Installed this all brass shut off valve:

It'll shut off manually to the OEM in warm weather, but won't help with your leaky shaft in the winter. ToyotaPartsDeal sells the Control Valve for $86.73. Not cheap!

Thanks for the help. Nice to get help from my home city of Las Cruces. We're hoping to be there in 3 weeks if covid doesn't rain on our parade!

Cheers,

Mike

Cool. Coming to pickup daughter?

Looking forward to it!
