We are restoring a '73 FJ40. The hard top has some creases in it where it looks like someone leaned on it or knelt on it. We were able to get most of teh creases out, but you can still tell that it was there.

We were thinking about spraying the hard top with Raptor Liner as a way to add some rigidity as well as cover up the creases - similar to how popcorn hides imperfections in sheet rock.

Your thoughts?

Do the creases run side to side and are they parallel? If so they may have been caused by a roof rack that got loaded to heavy and bent into the roof. The roof is not steel and those creases are probably hiding cracks. You might consider a better fix.

I'd flip it over and lay some glass on the inside of the top and squeegee some resin onto the inside of it. Once you have it reinforced on the inside, a thin coat of filler would take care of the creases.
