FJ40 front disc brake conversion

I'm currently doing a front disc brake conversion on my 68 fj40. I found parts from a 79 fj40, the only problem is that i have the claw/ball joint in the knuckle which is not compatible with a birfield joint. Anyone know if i can just swap out the inner axle with one from a later model fj40 or compatible vehicle? anyone have any experience dealing with this issue....? thanks!

Find a whole new housing, the seal/bushing on the claw axle different.

X2!! Claw and ball isn't worth doing a conversion on. Find the rest of that 79 axel and you'd be good to go with a ton less headaches.
