FJ40 Fan/Fan Clutch Removal

Can you remove the Fan/Fan Clutch without removing the Shroud?

Yes but it's definitely a pain in the butt

I did it recently, but, my 2F uses a non-clutch water pump. Just silly as far as adequate room - use a soft handle socket wrench to avoid damage to radiator. I threaded an all-thread stud (not too long) or two where the screws were removed - just to keep the fan pulley lined-up on the water pump, then back them out and replace with the correct screws. Aftermarket SOR radiator. I think that if the Aisan nylon fan didn't bend a bit, it would have been a no-go.
