Hello,
This is my first time trying these forums. I am working on a 1976 stock fj40 and have a broken plastic engine fan blade and need to replace it. I am not sure if the fan clutch is good or not but am wondering if there are any fixed fans that will work? Also I think that it is a newer motor and would like to know where to find the date on it? Any info or advice I appreciate.
Thanks,

if I am not mistaken, the fan is still available from Toyota for under $100

The engine serial number is stamped on a flat cast into the engine block, behind the distributor on the passenger side. It should start with "2F", followed by six digits. My 11/75 ('76 model year) FJ40 has engine serial number 2F 056815.

To get an idea of when your engine was built, check out this thread:

does the 16361-60090 work for a 1974 1.5F?

Yes it does. It's a 6 blade and measures about 16-1/8" diameter.
The Aisin FNT-017 is an 8 blade that fits also. Measures about 16-7/8" diameter.

EDIT: The larger Aisin 8 blade would need some shroud modding. I believe it was Mark (65swb45) who set up Dean (Marion Rising) with and 8 blade and a shroud to fit.
