Quick question- this latest FJ40 (1979) that I am working on will be a driver type cruiser. Not a museum showpiece but not a beater either.
It came with driveplates and did not come with Aisin hubs which I prefer.
Is there any point to keeping the driveplates if this is a 97% street and forest service driven cruiser? I found out yesterday that driveplates are of value in a trail only FJ40 not in a street cruiser.
Is it a realistic trade to trade two driveplates for a set of Aisin hubs for a April 1979 FJ40?
thanks
Aaron
