I just bought a disc brake front axle to put on my 45. Just noticed that it was modified for spring over, which I’m not running. Can I swap the disc brake knuckles out and install on my extra drum brake front axle? I believe that’d be easier than cutting and rewelding spring perches back onto their original location.

Thanks for the help.

Mike

Should be good, use axles too. You may have to massage the inside of bell at the flats just a bit to get the disc. birf in., maybe not, thats with mini discs, minor brake line mods needed as well, and depending on which flange you want or which diff is better you can swap those.

Better to swap knuckles. they may have done a cut and turn on the balls that would mess up your alignment too. Like stated above, you will need to grind out the inside of the ball to get the birf to fit...not a big deal.

Thanks Rob. Yeah, learned from PO that it was from a hydraulic steer off-road only rig. Probably was cut and turned. Maybe I’ll discover a locker in there. Who knows!
