FJ40 1974 rear drum stuck (1 Viewer)

I have a 1974 FJ40 with a rear semi floating axle and I need help on removing the drum. I was expecting a retaining screw but seems not to be present? I also tried to adjust the cylinders using the brake adjuster gap in the back but no success removing the drum. Any useful suggestions or do I just brute force it at this point?

What’s the back story? Been sitting or recently running and driving? PB Blaster or your favorite flavor of penetrant along the seam between axle and drum is a good start.

I believe that threaded hole can accept a bolt to put force on the drum , to move towards you.

X2 on a sledge hammer, the drum will "freeze" to the axle shaft, it will need a little persuasion

PBlaster was what did it for me, left overnight. Tried sledge hammer, heat, and the bolt but none of them did it.

Use a little anti-seize on the axle when you reassemble. Helps to keep the drum from rusting onto the axle.

Penetrating oil and hammer should be able to break the bond between the drum and axle.
